Registration is Going on at Full Speed
We would like to remind you that more than 120 participants will take part in MediaBarCamp. Most people will come from Belarus, but representative delegations from Ukraine, Russia, Sweden and Lithuania are also expected. There are two deadlines for applications. One of them, May 1 2009, was established for those who needed visa support. By 2 p. m. of the closing date 226 applications have been received! This is why the question of an applicant’s approval remains urgent.MediaBarCamp is a special barcamp, and you know why. Those attendees are preferable who have their own media projects. They are not journalists who work for basic rates or honorariums, they are the people who run their small and not-very-small media projects, e.g. web-sites, blogs, videos, podcasts etc. The key point here is not a fee, but motivation: why a blog is being run and a podcast is being made. What on Earth is the purpose of all these? Vast majority of population has no answer, but it is not majority we are interested in.
The subject of your presentation and your experience are of the top interest for us. First of all, we are looking forward to seeing the results of your project, which can be read or watched in the internet or any anywhere else. Secondly, your active preparation for MediaBarCamp is of great importance. We will hopefully minimize the number of ‘tourists’ and ‘freebie seekers’.
The deadline for those who needed visa support closed May 1, 2009. We gathered to submit docs for Lithuanian visas at 3 p. m. May 20 (Minsk, Belarus) and 11 a. m. May 21 (Kyiv, Ukraine). Further information will be announced in detail.
Those successful applicants who already have Lithuanian visa will be contacted on their possible framework of attendance by the end of May. Candidacies with visa have advantage as they will be in the pending list. The final list will be formed June 1, 2009.
For any questions address mediabarcamp@gmail.com or post a comment. Be active: activists are wanted by MediaBarCamp.

If you are reading this, you must already know about MediaBarCamp. Many potential attendees may still be uninformed, though. So as to let them into MediaBarCamp, help with publicity. You scratch my back, and I scratch yours. One can learn about the non-conference only in the internet. Please, use mediabarcamp tag when posting the event’s ads.
Your help in misprints correction is also needed. The most effective effort to reduce misprints and mistakes is a fresh view of a new person. Concerning collaborative work in MediaBarCamp organization, we cannot presume the only proofreader. You may help, too. Have you found a mystake or a mistrinp? Help us with correction! Activism sounds good, but spelling rules still remain valid. You can inform about a mistake in two clicks.
As for the Russian version, mark incorrectly written word using your mouse and press Ctrl + Enter on your keyboard. A small question box will appear: ‘Send a message about the mistake?’ If you are sure about the mistake, press ‘Ok’. If you’re just interested in what will follow, press ‘Cancel’. Thank you for helping us! Incidentally, mistakes control has become perfectly possible thanks to the Orphus.ru On-line Literacy System. Unfortunately, the system is available for Cyrillic alphabets only. That is why we welcome you to correct all mistranslations. Don’t be shy, try and find all the mistakes and feel free to correct them!
Apart from that, we are forward to seeing your video clips about MediaBarCamp. Furthermore, make sure you use mediabarcamp tag when posting MediaBarCamp adverts and posting information or/and MediaBarCamp 2009 banners in your blogs and web-sites. Surprisingly, last year bloggers did their best, they made posts, linked and tagged without special instructions. This year crisis must have affected people’s minds and hearts badly: we have to ask for links and tags!
